The Chaplain provides pastoral care for staff, students, families and carers and also includes linking the school with the local community, support groups and organisations. The school has created a culture that embraces community with not only understanding and empathy but excitement in the strength our community has.
The Chaplain fosters community engagement to create opportunities for inclusion, growth and learning.
The following NPS initiatives occur:
Parents and community morning coffee group
Grandparent Carers group
Advocacy for families
Assistance with referrals for financial/crisis assistance (and support)
Information sessions - 123 Magic and Emotion Training, PPP, Healthy Eating (Esperance Community health), Financial Information (Escare)
Mentoring projects - newly formed Anchor, EACS, M&Ms
Partnerships with community organisations such as Esperance Care Services, Escare, Centrecare, BOICO, ECAS and District Health Advisory Council.
