Nulsen Primary School has a magnificent Permaculture Garden “The Power Point” which has been designed to use only sustainable garden principles. These include:
Organic gardening practices
No chemicals, fertilisers
Use only open pollenated seeds – seeds are stronger and saved for future generations
No dig gardens
Worm castings produced from Nulsen Primary School recycling programme, used for soil improver. Liquid worm castings used as a complete garden fertiliser
Perennial herbs grown for health properties and natural insect control
Garden produce is used in school cooking and learning experiences. A horticulturalist visits weekly and assists teachers and students with sustainable gardening practice learning opportunities.
