Student Wellbeing Officer
At Nulsen Primary School, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of every student. Our Student Wellbeing Officer, Janelle Butler, provides care and support to help students feel safe, connected, and supported at school.
About the Role
Written by Janelle Butler
Wellbeing Officers play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and pastoral wellbeing of school communities. They focus on prevention and early support, helping students navigate challenges such as family breakdown, loneliness, friendship issues, and mental health concerns. They offer a listening ear and a consistent, caring presence for young people—whether they are in crisis or simply need someone to talk to.
Wellbeing Officers also provide valuable support to staff, parents, and local agencies, contributing to a stronger, more connected school community.
Importantly, they advocate for students and families in ways that are often only recognised when they are needed most.
With more than 30 years of experience, Scripture Union Chaplaincy has earned a strong reputation for professionalism and trust, serving hundreds of schools across Australia. As the nation’s largest provider of school chaplaincy services, SU Chaplaincy is well-equipped to deliver tailored support that meets the unique needs of each school.
