Scaling up to Success (SupS)
At Nulsen Primary School, the Scaling Up Success program supports teachers to make learning clear, consistent and responsive to students’ needs. Staff use explicit teaching to explain new ideas, model skills and give students time to practise. Daily reviews help students revisit and remember what they have learnt, while differentiation allows teachers to adjust lessons and support for different learning needs.
Through professional learning, coaching and sharing ideas with colleagues, staff continue to build their skills in literacy and numeracy. The aim is to help every student take part in learning, make progress and feel confident in their success.
The program also supports stronger connections between the school and the community. Bevan Bennell, Regional Engagement Officer with Regional Learning Initiatives, works alongside Nulsen staff, including our AIEOs and Clontarf team, to encourage community involvement in students’ learning and support students to stay connected with school.
